Jewish Journeys:
Independent B’Mitzvah Program
“Honoring Our Roots, Creating New Paths”

Jewish Journeys
A two-year independent program for families who are not affiliated with a synagogue yet want a meaningful Jewish education and experience for their children. Designed for interfaith and unaffiliated families, Jewish Journeys fosters an intimate, joyful, and inclusive environment where students explore Jewish identity, traditions, and values.
Taught by Rabbi Elizheva Hurvich
A creative and experienced Jewish educator, Rabbi Elizheva nurtures curiosity, pride, and spiritual growth. Small cohorts of 4–8 students meet weekly on Zoom or in the East Bay for hands-on, experiential learning.

Year One: A Taste of Judaism
Students will learn about and celebrate Jewish Holidays, traditions, history, values, and do acts of community service.
Year Two: B’Mitzvah Journey
Students will engage in Torah study, Jewish practice, personal spirituality, and ceremony preparation.
B’Mitzvah Ceremonies
Each ceremony is tailored to the family’s needs. Traditional, creative, and interfaith-friendly, your child’s ceremony reflects your family’s values. From traditional Torah readings to creative celebrations with music, poetry, or art, each ceremony will be crafted by the student, the rabbi and your family to honor Jewish tradition and to meet your unique family.
Mission Statement
To connect Jewish (and Jewish interfaith) families with Jewish heritage, identity, and community in a warm, accessible, and personal way, honoring each family’s unique journey and empowering each family to integrate Jewish wisdom and practice into their lives.
